yo man im 14 right now and my max bench is around 190 right now im trying to get it to 225 in 3months. any tips that could help me reach my goal?
strikebandit says:
inevitably u have to benchpress with arching your back,,,
see yourself well and u ll notice u are arching yourback to put weight up,,,,
cuz the core is most important thing to make some strength.
but i see rest of techs well explained
MattM233 says:
@PicturesOfMyButt Right, normally you do not want to arch your back. I never do, and never let myself. But I’m saying for a powerlifter, its different. They dont care about chest development, they just want to be able to move as much weight as they can. So part of thier technique involves an arched back.

alright

@MattM233 Arching your back is one of the things you DON’T want to do
MattM233 says:
Arching your back allows a greater bench. Its part of a power lifting bench press technique.

am sure he was arching his back when lifting the weight thought he said not to do that ?

nice vid man.

@eastnygoon138 Putting it on the stomach is if you can’t bench press it back up. He doesn’t have a spotter. So maybe your just taking what he says wrong, but my dad was a professional power lifter and the same stuff is here. He doesn’t roll wrist, he doesn’t put his legs in the air or push with all his ass. So if he isn’t perfect, I understand, but he’s not all that bad. There are a lot worse videos, getting mad here, I don’t understand.
ZaCkOX900 says:
@eastnygoon138 Arching back without a weight lifting belt is exactly how you mess up your lower back. He doesn’t show some techniques that will improve your bench press to the best, but he shows normal stuff. Bar is supposed to touch nipple line, if yours doesn’t, I don’t know how your benching but that has always been the proper and strongest spot. Relaxing stuffings and gets you to hold the bar tight. Bringing it down slow would be exertion exercise, that is power lifting.
eastnygoon138 says:
@ZaCkOX900 3-5 days a week with at least 5 sets, excert bench pressing? wtf are you talking about. Il point out the things he says wrong… 1. No arch in the back 2.) bar touches chest at nipple line 3.) Relax on the way down 4.) Dont bring it down slow 5.) Roll bar onto stomach if a rep is missed etc. He seems to mean well but he doesnt know much about benching. It angers me when people with average knowledge about something post educational videos about it
ZaCkOX900 says:
@eastnygoon138 What is the bad advice? His advice is not perfect, but you can definitely lift more the way he explains. To do any better you’ll have to train at least 3-5 days a week with 5 sets, use a weight lifting belt, and excert bench pressing. There is no better advice past that unless you want to take supplements and steriods.
eastnygoon138 says:
@ZaCkOX900 He is giving bad advice, and wearing a fucking rashguard… tool
ZaCkOX900 says:
Recommended is a weight lifting belt. It doesn’t not help you bench more, but it does protect your lower back. The heavier the weight is, you can pull your back. Totally recommended and if you are always pushing your hardest, I would say a must have.
ZaCkOX900 says:
@eastnygoon138 I wouldn’t say he’s a tool. He knows how to do it right, and he doesn’t take steriods, plus look at his size for bench pressing. Your words are more of a tool than he is.
eastnygoon138 says:
lol @ big benchers not lowering the weight slowly… this kid is a tool, dont listen to anything he says
